Back to writing isn't as easy as it sounds. It takes discipline and focus. Two things I don't seem to have in abundance lately. There are so many excuses to be had!
It's nice out, so each weekend is spent in the garden. Now, the gardens are pretty much self-maintaining. That excuse is gone, and I've begun to write on the weekends again and have 4 complete chapters under my belt for my WIP.
Work never lets up. Before I became a full-time telecommuter last fall, I would write on the bus-rides to and from work. It was a set schedule that worked for me and provided a means for me to focus on writing. Now, the bus-rides are a thing of the past, and I find I simply get up in the morning and go right to work (after my morning work-out), and then work until dinner-time. Waaay too tired at the end of the day to write, as I'm not one of those Night Writers who write into the wee hours. I'm a morning person.
So that excuse seems to be taking over my life and my writing habits. Weekend writing isn't enough. I'll need to find a new schedule for writing time. Maybe, after my morning work-out, I should head to the local coffee shop and write for an hour before returning home to go to work.
I'll give it a whirl and see how it works out. More to come!
