So, it's that Middle time. That week in the middle between Christmas and New Year. That time between a book submission and the 'news' on whether your new book is being picked up by your publisher. The 'middle' time between finishing the last manuscript and starting the next one.
The Middle.
I'm stuck in the middle of a number of things, as mentioned above. It's that middle time when I'm not sure what to do with myself.
The middle between Christmas and New Year? The diet has gone to hell, and I accept the challenge to eat all the left overs before the new year starts and I get back on the treadmill. I'm enjoying this middle time for all it's worth! Though my waistline is starting to groan a little at all the pressure I'm putting on it.
The middle time between submitting my manuscript and waiting to hear? It sucks. I keep picking at the manuscript while I wait, and am experiencing that horrible feeling that it won't get picked up, especially considering I rewrote the first chapter because I feel like it was an info dump. Unfortunately, the editor is looking at 'the dump'.
The middle between finishing the last manuscript and starting a new one? That's both a good and bad middle. While I have a couple of ideas in my head, it's now time to start the research. The question is which one do I go with? My gut is telling me to go one way, my head is telling me to go another. I guess I'll go with my gut...it's bigger!
For now, I'm just stuck in the middle.
