So, over the weekend I worked on the 2nd round of edits from my editor at Soul Mate Publishing. Kim. Is. Awesome. I always liked my story (of course, I'm biased), but now I *love* my story. Kim had so many brilliant insights and suggestions, really working me to dig deep into my characters emotions. There were times when I was overwhelmed and wasn't sure if I could do it.
I'm happy to say, I did it!
The first round was definitely the hardest. It took me over a week, and at one point I simply walked away from my computer in frustration and decided to sleep on it (the problem I was having). I woke up at 3 the following morning, eyes wide open, and mentally screaming "I know what to do to fix it!" Mentally screaming, because I didn't want to wake up my husband with the insane ramblings of a mad woman. :)
Second round I was able to finish in 2 days. Kim's approved, and off we go to the next step. I think that's the galley proof, but to be honest, I'm not sure, since I'm a total newb here.
I'll keep posting on the road to publication. Squee!
