It's great when a plan -- or plot -- comes together. As I'd posted previously, I struggled with getting started on the next book. I'll be the first to admit that the beginning is the hardest part for me. For some reason, my current WIP -- The Dark Well -- seemed especially difficult.
I'm happy to say it's all starting to come together, and the plot thickens! I'm finally "there", hitting my sweet spot, so to say. My characters have finally leaped from vague ideas in my head to establish themselves on the pages. The backstory I created helped fine tune their motivations, and now the characters are acting in ways I had both planned and didn't plan.
And of course, there is a character or two I hadn't planned on at all. Where exactly did they come from?
It feels really good to be back on track. Hopefully by the end of the summer, my first draft will be done.
